I have grown up along the banks of the Mohawk River, and the beauty that surrounds it. Since I was a little girl, I knew that someday, I wanted to be married by the river. There are really only three options to choose from if you want to get married on the River near Scotia - The Glen Sanders Mansion, River Stone Manor, and The Waters Edge Lighthouse. After comparing the Glen Sanders and River Stone, I took a chance and visited your restaurant.

It was Mother's Day 2010. I decided to see if you were open, and if you even offered banquets at your restaurant. Much to my surprise, there was a new building at the back of your property - The Terrace at Waters Edge! I didn't know what it was, but I saw a lot of people going inside, and decided to try and get some information. I walked in and was amazed!!! The color of the walls, a soft yellow, perfect!!! The cathedral ceilings, perfect!!! And, not to mention the beautiful patio on the river - I suddenly envisioned how perfect this place would be to have my wedding.

That day I was introduced to Rit Ruzzo, who was managing the Mother's Day Brunch, which was impressive in itself. I am still surprised that he took the time to talk to me that day. He was so busy, but he answered my questions about weddings, and was even willing to look at prices with me right there!!! I knew that if I booked my wedding at The Terrace, I would have the best customer service, and the best experience possible. I felt confidence in Rit from the first time I met him.

Needless to say, we did book our wedding with you. We had an amazing wedding day on September 5, 2010. The food was outstanding - cooked just the right way. The meats were not too rare, not too dry - just perfect. Rit did everything he promised and more. Countless guests complimented us on the location of the wedding, and mentioned that the food and the reception were exceptional. My husband and I felt it was necessary to let you know how extremely satisfied we were with our experience at your facility. We couldn't have picked a better place to have our wedding. Rit made the event stress-free for me, and I knew I had nothing to worry about on my wedding day - not many brides can say that!!! Thanks for surpassing our expectations and more!!!

Pat and I worked with Rit, and every request was accommodated. We received so many comments from guests about the delicious food, friendliness of the staff, and the decorating of the banquet hall. I am writing to thank everyone there involved in my son´s graduation (from Union) dinner. From my first phone call to make a reservation, to the day of the dinner, you were all superb, friendly, helpful and efficient! We were a party of 15 in the Seeley Room and the foyer was perfect for family photos. Our server was outstanding ­ in a boisterous, hungry party of that size ­ not one of us wanted for anything! I thank you again for starting off our first child´s college graduation so well!

The first thing I have to say is that our perfect day expectations were met, and blown away, with the quality of food and service provided at our wedding on September 4, 2010. It was a real pleasure working with you to make all of the arrangements leading up to our day!

The facility itself is simply a "home run". We looked at more than a dozen locations, ranging from the Mohawk Valley to Albany and north to Saratoga Springs. When we took our tour of the facility for the first time, our first impression was enough ­ a week later you had our deposit. We even picked our wedding date around the availability of your facility.

We are not kidding when we say that we did not hear anything but compliments from all of our 140 guests. We heard comment like: "The best wedding I have been to in a long time", "I have to come back here for dinner", and "absolutely gorgeous reception with amazing food!"

We believed that the venue would "make or break" our wedding reception and we were so fortunate that we came across yours! The process of deciding the menu, table locations, bar options, etc. can be mind-boggling, but working with you, and your experience, made it so easy.

We highly recommend The Terrace at Waters Edge to anyone looking for a phenomenal wedding reception facility, with exquisite food and service.
